Aims and Objectives
Equip the delegate to have an understanding of health and safety requirements and legislation and their implications in the workplace.
On successful completion of the course, candidates will be able to:
- Identify how and why health and safety forms an integral part of any manager’s or supervisor’s responsibilities
- Identify hazards in the workplace and the range of control measures available
- Understand and be able to conduct the basic process involved in risk assessment
- Define their legal responsibilities and the responsibilities of their staff with regard to health and safety in the workplace
- Understand why incidents involving damage or injury occur
- Communicate effectively on health and safety matters with their staff, managers and safety advisors
- Have a basic understanding of attitude to risk and the physical and psychological limitations in the causation of incidents and accidents.
