PPE
PPE Workplace Regulations state that the employer is responsible for providing employees with suitable and sufficient PPE
at the employers expense and provide the means to store the PPE and any maintenance as required.
When choosing PPE the following should be taken into consideration:
Signage
When inspecting your premises and checking you have adequate signage, it is also worth considering if your signs can be understood by all visitors to site. Have you taken into consideration overseas visitors/delivery drivers/temporary staff where pictorial and/or multi-lingual signs would be of benefit? Also, tactile & braille signs are an effective means of assisting people (with restricted or no vision) and providing equality of access, in line with the National Disability Councils guidelines. Energy saving and glass awareness signs (ie. to prevent staff/visitors walking into large windows or glass doors).
Ready made signs are available in varying sizes and durability (self adhesive for indoors and rigid for outdoors). Signs can also be laminated to endure the rigours of outdoors, the laminated signs come with a 10 year guarantee against UV Fading and Graffiti Resistance. For your convenience we can offer Multi packs of safety signs to match your requirements thus saving you time and money.
The Chemicals (hazard information and packaging for supply) Regulations require that all dangerous substances and preparations be clearly marked, we can supply single signs or packs of 500.
Hazardous substances not only have to be clearly marked for identification purposes but storage and spill control are just as important, the catalogue also has a selection of spill kits available and storage cabinets.
