The NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate was held in our new training centre in Leicestershire, from 26th – 29th May 2009, and this time it was my turn to become a student as opposed to being the trainer! It was a refreshing change to be sat on the other side of the fence, although our trainer would not necessarily agree with that statement.
Day 1: Met the other students and lessons began at 9am. On the first day we covered the legal side and managing fire safety.
Day 2: Principles of fire and explosion and causes and prevention of fires.
Day 3: Fire protection in buildings and safety of people in the event of a fire
Day 4: Fire risk assessment, exam preparation and revision
Day 5: Exam day. AM - FC1 practical. PM – FC2 written paper.
As an added bonus as I achieved my NGC1 more than 5 years ago to receive the whole qualification for the NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate I had to resit the NGC1 exam again, had I not I would of only received a Unit certificate denoting my achievement.
A great course and a great experience. I would highly recommend the NEBOSH Fire for those who have already achieved their NGC1. So, just the 10 week nervous wait to go now, until I receive the exam results!
